Jenny Campbell Snaps Up Toni Thornton's Original Artwork for £12K at the Peter Jones Foundation Exclusive Charity Auction

The Peter Jones Foundation held its Race for Enterprise fundraiser at the iconic Goodwood Motor Circuit on Wednesday 25th September, drawing remarkable support from businesses and individuals alike. The event was a resounding success, with numerous contributions making a significant impact, including that of Leeds-based artist Toni Thornton. Toni, who was awarded Most Distinctive Abstract Artist at the Northern Enterprise Awards in 2022, donated a bespoke artwork titled Fragments of Goodwood to the auction. Since launching her career, Toni has sold custom works for interior spaces and projects worldwide, including in England, America, Amsterdam, Australia, Canada, Germany, Spain, and more.

The auction was held at the historic Goodwood House and hosted by the esteemed auctioneer Jonny Gould, who has raised millions for charities during his career spanning nearly three decades. Fragments of Goodwood sparked an intense bidding war, as many guests were captivated by the meaningful piece. This artwork, crafted especially for the Foundation, features laser-cut, coated-metal fragments hand-stitched into an abstract painted canvas. Each fragment represents the shape and location of Goodwood on the map. The piece, created in a neutral palette and framed in a classic tray frame, was designed to reflect the spirit of the venue.

The winning bid of £12K came from Jenny Campbell, entrepreneur and former Dragon on the BBC series Dragon’s Den. Jenny's contribution was a significant part of the event's overall success, helping the auction raise £120K, which will directly support the Foundation’s mission to empower young people across the UK through entrepreneurship.

About the event, Toni Thornton said:

“The Peter Jones Foundation really is a wonderful cause, giving incredible opportunities to so many young people. We are thrilled to be able to support this charity and, in the process, have such an amazing time ourselves, meeting such warm and generous people like Jenny. We are so pleased Jenny won our Goodwood Fragments Artwork in the auction. Thank you once again for having us.”

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who supported the event, especially to Jenny Campbell and Toni Thornton, whose generosity will make a lasting difference.
