TRUSTS AND FOUNDATIONS
We operate as both a funder and a recipient of funds. Collaboration with other Trust and Foundations takes place in several different forms, such as match-funding, because we understand the importance of working together and sharing resources to shift the needle when it comes to lifting the aspirations and prosperity of those in the UK and worldwide.
THE CLARE FOUNDATION
The Clare Foundation was able to support the Peter Jones Foundation with a grant to help young people in Buckinghamshire develop enterprise skills and an entrepreneurial mindset. This was with a focus on driving participation from Bucks schools in the Peter Jones Foundation Tycoon Enterprise Competition. Mike Clare joined Peter Jones to meet students at Wycombe Abbey School to find out more about some of the projects.
Mike Clare, Founder and Chairman of The Clare Foundation said:
“I have known Peter for many years and share the entrepreneurial spirit so was delighted that through that shared vision, we could provide a grant for young people in Buckinghamshire to develop their skills, knowledge and become young entrepreneurs. I was also happy to have met students from Wycombe Abbey School at a recent event and hear all about their projects.”
COMMERCIAL EDUCATION TRUST
The Commercial Education Trust is an independent grant-making charity, originally established by the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry. CET has a vision of a society in which people have the knowhow, skills and opportunity to succeed in work, thereby creating a thriving UK economy. CET works with a range of charities and organisations, encouraging the development of commercial education from primary school level through to higher education. The Trust has supported initiatives that help schoolchildren prepare for the world of work, assisted higher education and vocational institutes to deliver employability and enterprise education, and funded programmes which bring together the worlds of business and commerce with teaching and education. CET plays a proactive role in developing projects to achieve maximum impact and measure success through evaluation, as well as encourages the sharing of best practice.
Mahad Ali, Executive Director said:
"We are on a drive to improve the Commercial Ability of young people so they can actively understand and learn the skills, attitudes, and behaviours they need to gain and thrive in a fulfilling career. Our work with PJF helps to do just that by encouraging Britain's young people to achieve their potential through entrepreneurship."
The Alan Shearer Foundation has three specific aims:
To provide a number of free short breaks for profoundly disabled children and adults at the Alan Shearer Short Break Centre every year
To continue to offer free sensory facilities and specialist leisure activities for the disabled users of the Alan Shearer Activity Centre
To enable St Cuthberts Care to expand its disability provision across the North East
The Alan Shearer Centre comprises three distinct facilities within the same building. Their specialist Activity Centre is open daily to disabled members of the public. It also funds a considerable number of additional free respite breaks for guests using our Short Break Centre. Their new Specialist Residential home, on the same site, offers a safe and nurturing environment for disabled adults.
