INDIVIDUALS AND PHILANTHROPISTS

We believe that exposing young people to a diverse and relatable range of role models is absolutely critical to raising aspirations and inspiring the next generation of successful entrepreneurs and business leaders. To help us achieve this, we are always looking for individuals, representing all career pathways and backgrounds, to get involved with our work whether that is mentoring a young person or acting as a regional ambassador for youth entrepreneurship through our Tycoon Initiators programme.

  • Tycoon Initiators

Our flagship Tycoon Enterprise Competition has seen steady growth, but we want your help to reach more schools – especially those in remote and rural areas. That’s why we launched Tycoon Initiators – localised champions for each region of the UK who give both their time and sponsorship to ignite the spark in young people and inspire them towards brighter and better futures.

  • Become an Ambassador

As a small team, we are indebted to a group of brilliant, volunteer Ambassadors that give up their time to represent PJF in different areas, be that: driving policy at the House of Lords, presenting awards to students at our graduation ceremonies, speaking on panels at thought-leading conferences, and even Radio and TV appearances during Global Entrepreneurship Week to shine a spotlight on best-in-class education.

  • Feature on our Igniting Enterprise Series

As part of our efforts to make enterprise education practical and relevant, we are proud to host a series of “Igniting Enterprise” webinars. Each term, we invite teachers and students from around the country to tune in to a conversation with an entrepreneur. Each speaker portrays the brilliant diversity we have in our startup ecosystem and the wonderful stories of overcoming personal circumstances. The conversations are turned into resources that link to the curriculum bringing the external voice of business into classrooms across the UK.

  • Take part in a challenge event

Walk 100km. Run a Half Marathon. Cycle from London to Brighton. Or perhaps, a purple cupcake bake sale is more your lane. Whatever takes your fancy, we can help you raise vital funds for the Foundation. Last year a number of individuals supported the foundation by walking along the Suffolk cost. Not only was it a great day out with friends, it provided the opportunity to tackle a new challenge whilst supporting a charitable cause.

  • Become an Empower Mentor

The Empower Mentoring Programme is where we matchmake qualified, professional business mentors with our growing alumni of students. With the support of mentoring facilitators and trainers; Goal 17 and Wowment App. Our aim to giver every mentee access to one-to-one mentoring sessions that can aid their progress. Common features are goal setting, advice and networking with other alumni at events throughout the year.

  • Join our Youth Panel

Our Youth Panel plays a crucial part of our governance. If you’re an ambitious and opinionated young person (up to 25 years of age) who cares about Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, then we invite you to apply to join our Youth Panel. Serving for 2 years, the panel consists of 10 bright young minds that meet regularly to inform and guide what we do as a charity, and often act as representatives in spreading our mission.

HEAR FROM OUR SUPPORTERS

Richard North
CEO Wow! Stuff

“The feedback I received from sharing my entrepreneurial journey on PJF’s podcast was inspiring. I shared my ups and also importantly my downs with teachers and pupils. I think they were pleasantly surprised that if a dumb ass like me can make a success of a business then pretty much anyone can!”

Daryl Clarke
Tycoon Initiator, South East region

“Together with my fellow Board Members, we are keen to facilitate the growth of the Tycoon programme to as many schools in the area in which I grew up!”

Sana Amin
Youth Panel Member

Sana joined the Foundation Youth Panel to empower young entrepreneurs to realise their full potential, through transformative learning. Having the opportunity to Chair a panel discussion at Anthropy 2023, provided a captivating space for continued valuable conversation on how to collaborate to create meaningful change.
