“I am both shocked and thrilled to have set up a business so young. The benefits of attending the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy took me by surprise.”

“I heard about the Academy from one of my tutors and I chose to follow up the leads and attended an information session before I finally applied for the course. Initially I thought the course would help me to gain the UCAS points I needed to get to university, however, within the first three months I noticed a huge boost in my self-confidence and considered running my own business as a real possibility.

Prior to joining the Academy I was studying Level 2 BTEC in Business at City College Coventry having made the life-changing decision to uproot and relocate from London to Coventry so as to escape a life that I no longer wished to lead.

My work placement was at the Skills Funding Agency where I was responsible for compiling reports detailing their events. I also developed a twelve month marketing plan and provided them with performance management criteria, an idea which I came up with myself after observing the dynamics of team meetings.

My highlights at the Academy were setting up and running my designer clothing business, Ray Piere, as well as meeting like-minded and enthusiastic people. The year ended on a high, when I was awarded the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy Inspirational Student of the Year 2013 which recognised the journey I had travelled to get to where I am now.

Since leaving the Academy I continue to run my business and now attend Wolverhampton University, where I study Business Management. I am both shocked and thrilled to have set up a business so young. The benefits of attending the Academy took me by surprise and I now highly recommend it to any budding entrepreneurs.”
