“When I turned 18 years old, I wanted to take my entrepreneurial talent further by setting up a company that had the potential to grow and be internationally recognised. However, I needed further skills and training to make this possible.
The Peter Jones Enterprise Academy ticked all the boxes for me and I wished that I was on one of its courses rather than the one I was studying at the time. A couple of years later, I decided to go ahead and apply, which turned out to be one of the best decisions I have ever made.
My plan is now to work full time to successfully run Opulent Leather – which specialises in quality leather goods – to ensure the brand becomes recognised worldwide.”
Jordan has always had a strong interest in enterprise and entrepreneurship. By the age of 16, he had already put his enthusiasm into practice and made some money. When he turned 18, he decided to take his talent further and set up his own company. However, he soon realised that his skills were not at the right level to do his business justice.
In search of good experience and the right education, Jordan signed up to the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy’s Level 3 Enterprise and Entrepreneurship course. At the end of a very productive year, Jordan was selected as one of six finalists for the National Entrepreneur of the Year award 2014, and was given the chance to pitch to Peter Jones CBE for investment in his leather goods business. He describes this experience as one of his greatest achievements.
Jordan says his time on the course helped him acquire the confidence he needed to develop both personally and professionally.
