"I'm really on the way to setting up my own business now. If you’re thinking about studying business then the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy is perfect."
When Jack signed up to the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy, he had no idea that within six weeks he would have developed a business idea that would bag him £1,250 prize money as a finalist in a national enterprise competition.
Having submitted an entry to the Edge Challenge, he was invited to present to a panel of Judges in Westminster, before being selected to pitch at the final in Birmingham, where he impressed enough to secure second place overall.
Jack’s business idea is to source wool from the vicuña, a wild and rare relative of the llama that can only be found in South America and is shorn just once every two years. Jack intends to create a luxury fashion brand from the wool, which is thin, warm and extremely soft.
In recognition of his achievements, he was named one of Yorkshire’s top 10 entrepreneurs of 2014 by online business publisher Bdaily.
Speaking about his time on the course so far, Jack said: “The experience I’ve had in such a short amount of time is amazing… It’s just really, really helping me to get my ideas developed and I’m really on the way to setting up my own business now. If you’re thinking about studying business then the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy is perfect.”
