"I had this great idea for a luxury pet brand and the Academy gave me the knowledge I needed to get the business up and running."
Charlotte Nash is the quintessential example of how the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy can help support a budding entrepreneur and help turn their business ideas into a reality. The course offered Charlotte valuable insight into how to get her business started and in 2012, she successfully set up her premium dog grooming products company, Precious Pets London.
Speaking about the course, Charlotte said: “The course explored scenarios when setting up a business, some of which I hadn’t even considered. I had a company concept, but no idea of how or where to start. It allowed me to focus and consolidate my ideas, developing them into a feasible and sustainable business. It was hugely insightful; it illuminated areas I needed to understand more about and gave me the invaluable knowledge I needed to do it right first time. It definitely saved me from making common mistakes and pointed me in the right direction.”
Charlotte identified a gap in the new growing premium pet market and by implementing the skills learned on the Academy course, has created a successful business over the past two years. She launched her first range of products at the Crufts dog show in 2013 and after introducing these products into shops throughout the following year, she was able to secure an investment of £600,000. Charlotte used this to expand the company and will be launching new products at Crufts 2014 and international trade shows in the coming months.
With prestigious clientele such as Her Majesty the Queen, Charlotte has shown that the knowledge and insight the course offers, combined with ambition and drive, can lead to the development of an extremely successful business.
